The Woman Who Wanted It All

It’s Finished!

I started making Julie’s Snuggler from the August/September issue of McCall’s Quick Quilts. I decided I wanted mine a little bit bigger so I kind of improvised this quilt from that point.

I made this quilt with my sister-in-law in mind. She started college this last fall and I wanted to make something bright and comforting for those days when she might be feeling a little homesick. She’ll be getting this for Christmas and I hope she loves it as much as I do.

Let’s hit the ground running, shall we?

I consider this quilt my first:

Apple Quilt

I made this quilt top using this Stars of Hope pattern on the Robert Kaufman website. Isn’t it lovely? I’m very proud of it. I’m planning on backing it with the red gingham that makes up the points of the stars. The binding will be the fabric that’s in the green border. Eventually I will quilt and bind it but to be honest, I have no idea how to do the actual quilting. I bought a free motion foot for my machine but I’m more than a little scared that I’ll mess it all up. Maybe figuring all that out that will be my goal for the next couple of weeks.
